What do you say that's a hack of a pirate game that uses characters from other games merging them all together into a weird hack? I dunno. Better read the review yourself.

Programmer: Hacked by Charles Gray from a pirate Taiwanese game known as Bi! Bi! by Rainbow Vision. Date: Originally Nineteen-eighty-x, hacked in 2004, released in cart form 2005. Platform: The almighty Atari 2600. Format: PAL. Well, I'm reviewing this game, largely because I like it. The hacker behind it has convinced me that this isn't the most horrible game ever made after all . . . As you can see, your character is a pin...

Craps Simulator

Posted on Sun, May 27 2007, by Lawrence Armstrong
Welcome to Craps! Oh... That doesn't sound too good. I've always thought that this particular game sounded very crude. Oh well. If you like the real game, you might enjoy this version for your 8-bit computer.

The Craps Simulator game for the Atari 800 is a simple gambling game that is similar to other casino games in this genre. The game features very basic graphics and sound, but good functionality. The playfield is well designed and easy to read. With the $1,000 bankroll at the start of the game, the player will have lots of fun before possibly losing it all. The graphics are simple but adequate to get the job done. The screen features two large ...

2600 vs. Intellivision

Posted on Sat, May 19 2007, by Brendan Onfrichuk
Funny how this article came down the pipe at the same time as the Cuttle Cart 3 is released! (Totally coincidental, I assure you.) Forget what we know today... If you were a 12 year old kid back in 1982, which system would you rather have? The Intellivision or the Atari?

In 1977 Atari released the world's first widely popular cartridge game console in America. This fabulous machine not only introduced gaming to the masses but it made home computers seem like a new possibility. Many of us have had our first gaming experiences on an Atari 2600 or simply have fond memories of playing it. But whenever a successful product comes to the market another company will want the same thing for themselves. Mattel saw this and developed their own ...

Medieval Mayhem

Posted on Fri, May 11 2007, by Daniel Kloss
Not satisfied with the original Atari 2600 version of Warlords, Darrell Spice Jr. has recreated the arcade game which includes the dragon and a few other surprises. Read the full review here...

Anyone who remembers Warlords for the Atari 2600 will most likely, if not for it's name, recognize Medieval Mayhem as the answer to all that was missing in Atari's earlier home release. After so many years, someone finally has taken the time and done a great job at addressing what was left out of the first game as compared to the arcade, which I'll get to shortly. Although most would call this new homebrew a warlords sequel, I prefer to see i...

Arabian

Posted on Mon, April 23 2007, by Darryl Brundage
Arabian is one of those overlooked games that needs some home conversions. (I think there was a NES version though.) So, if you haven't tried it, it's not your fault! Fire it up in MAME and I bet you'll enjoy it.

Ahhhhh, good ol' competition -- aka "stealing", at times -- as Entertainment Company A will produce something successful, then Entertainment Company B will come out with something somewhat similar, but with just enough changes made so they won't get sued, yet they hope they'll rake in the money, like Company A did for their similar product. You'll see similar-themed movies come out one after the other after a while -- right now, there's been plenty of fan...

ThunderCats

Posted on Mon, April 16 2007, by Brendan Onfrichuk
Along with Robotech and Voltron, Thundercats was a favorite show of mine back in the mid-80's. I'm not surprised there are video games for it, but a game on the Atari ST? Maybe this is worth checking out... Now, where's my Voltron game?

Those were the words that echoed through my family room many years ago. I can't even remember how old I was but I can certainly remember Lion-O's adventures with the ThunderCats. I wasn't born yet when the ThunderCats series ended but It was in re-run all the time in my youth and our video store was heavily stocked with ThunderCats tapes. When I heard that ThunderCats actually had a video game I knew I just had to play it. So hop into the Thunder...

Syndicate

Posted on Wed, April 04 2007, by Bruce Clarke
In the future, cybernetically enhanced humanoids rampage and kill everything in sight. Or so the predictions say. Now you can join the enhanced bio-dudes and do some rampaging yourself I guess...

In the early 1990s the British developer Bullfrog created some very popular simulation games such as Populous and Theme Park. In these games you assume the role of an omnipotent being who overlooks a world. While looking down upon this world's map, you can control various actions of small beings wandering around. In 1993 Bullfrog went a step further and produced Syndicate for the PC. Although it has some elements that are similar to...
